After the farewell concert in 2016, Rebel Star returned to the stage with Milan Glavaški’s solo album ‘Demoni’ (April 2020), and the next step in the ‘new beginning’ is a big band and big songs. Glavaški has been present on the music scene of the Balkans for more than three decades. From Eva Braun’s ‘Prisluškivanje’ to the album ‘Početak i kraj’, the Rebel Star’s world has changed dozens of times. Some people have left, some new ones have come, and hardly any of those macro changes have been positive. What has remained the same throughout all these years is Milan and his eternal search for the perfect verse, the best chord, the chorus that ‘solves everything’, the song that will explain what is happening to us. On the album ‘Početak i kraj’ this musician seems to have accepted his fate and is now ready to give us the answers we have been looking for for so long.
Bohemija has released three studio albums – ‘Sve naopako’ (2017), ‘Nasmeši se i reši se?’ (2019) and ‘Putujemo’ (2021). Their concerts are a story of its own: tons of positive energy, madness of colors, the best of pop-rock psychedelia and an incredible sense of melody and the perfect song. And six special people on stage. ‘Putujemo’ is a logical continuation of the idea that brought the band together: ‘Let us play music inspired by the Beach Boys and the Beatles, but in a way that we understand it’. All this with numerous influences of psychedelia from both sides of the Atlantic, Britpop and Scottish pop, with subtle quotes from bands from the region that decisively influenced the band’s sound. This soul-space-pop-rock band from Niš is occasionally playful like David Bowie on ‘Let’ Dance’, catchy like The Cult on ‘Electric’, happy-sad like Big Star on ‘Sister Lovers’ and irresistible like some ABBA’s ‘Best of’.
The biggest event of music industry professionals in the region, Kontakt Conference, will be held in Belgrade from 24 to 26 March 2022, organized by the production company ‘Kontakt konferencija’, the concert agency Odličan Hrčak and the Belgrade Festivals Centre (CEBEF), under the auspices of the city of Belgrade.
Kontakt 2022 will be divided into three programme sections: forums and panels; exhibitions and workshops; musical part of the programme (concerts).
